LWC-HR 1000 Wheelchair & Bariatric Scale
The Tree LWC-HR 1000 is a heavy-duty wheelchair and bariatric scale designed to provide accessible, versatile weighing for hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, medical offices, and other healthcare environments. With a 1,000 lb capacity, 0.2 lb readability, and spacious 40″ × 37″ weighing platform, the LWC-HR 1000 accommodates patients using wheelchairs and other mobility devices while also supporting stand-up bariatric weighing.
Designed with accessibility in mind, the LWC-HR 1000 features dual access ramps, allowing wheelchair users to enter from one side and exit from the opposite side without having to turn around on the scale. For wheelchair weighing, the removable cross rails create a convenient pass-through configuration. For bariatric and stand-up weighing, the scale can be configured with its 3-point handrail system, providing additional support while entering, weighing, and exiting.
The LWC-HR 1000’s low-profile ramp system is designed in accordance with the accessibility criteria for wheelchair-accessible medical diagnostic equipment established by the U.S. Access Board. The ramps have a rise of approximately 1.25 inches over a 13.5-inch ramp length, resulting in an approximately 1:10.75 running slope (9.3%). This is gentler than the 1:8 maximum slope permitted for medical diagnostic equipment ramps with a rise of 2½ inches or less under.
The ramps also incorporate 2-inch edge protection to help prevent wheelchair and mobility-device wheels from traveling over the sides of the ramp. The ADA Standards require 2-inch minimum edge protection where a ramp has a drop-off of ½ inch or greater.
The large weighing platform provides 40″ of length and 37″ of width, creating a generous wheelchair weighing area. The ADA Standards specify a minimum wheelchair-space width of 36 inches, with an exception allowing 32 inches on certain raised platforms, and require at least 40 inches of depth for a pass-through wheelchair space.
For added flexibility, the LWC-HR 1000 can operate using the included AC adapter or 6 AA batteries, making it suitable for both permanent installations and locations where convenient access to AC power may not be available. Its straightforward 5-button keypad keeps daily operation simple.
The HOLD function freezes the weight on the display, allowing staff to record a measurement after the patient or wheelchair has exited the scale. Selectable auto-backlight and auto-shutoff functions provide additional convenience, while RS-232 connectivity supports data output to compatible external equipment.
